Stefania Capodaglio

Submission from Bologna,

Waitress & Co-founder of Altalena Fanzine

Stefania Capodaglio is a waitress living in Bologna. She was born and raised in Turin, then moved to Bellaria, a small town on the Adriatic sea. She’s also a co-founder of Altalena Fanzine, where she takes and shares photos and looks for other artists to have collaborations. Stefania has always worked in restaurants and ‘50s diners and she aspires to open her own restaurant/venue.

Who are you?

Stefania Capodaglio: I want everything at once, i can whistle with my fingers, I never want to tie my shoes while I’m walking down the street and i’m good at crying on public transports looking out the window.

Where are you from and where are you going?

I was born and grew up in Turin, then we moved to Bellaria, a small town on the Adriatic sea, and now I live in Bologna.

I've always worked in restaurants and 50’s diners as a waitress, but during the last two years i became co-founder of “Altalena fanzine”, so i’m always busy writing notes, taking photos and finding artists to interview or to collaborate with. I also make playlists!

I’d like to open a place where you can eat, drink and see nice concerts and nice people, but i don’t know where yet.

Can you tell us a little more about the people we see on your pictures?

They’re all my friends and colleagues from work, + Stefano, my partner in crime, who appears in four photos.

I’m the girl on the right that rides the motorcycle.

What did you shoot and why did you shoot it?

They’re all photos of Bologna and Bellaria, most of them are my favourite spots to photograph, i have many versions by now.

If you could host a dinner and invite 5 guests of your choice, alive or dead, who would they be?

Elvis, Matt Skiba, Michael Cera, Kat Dennings and Schulz.

What do you dream about when you dream big?

Actually I dream Los Angeles all the time.

I went to L.A twice in 2014, one month in April and one month in November!

I’d like so much to write a novel for an Hollywood movie.

What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?

In Italy we have “the little mouse of the teeth” instead of the Tooth Fairy...

A color?

This year yellow represents me the most, especially to wear it.

A city?

There’s no place like Bologna

What are your plans for this weekend?

I’ll go to visit my family and on sunday I’ll go with some friends to see a rock-show in Milan.

(The Used!!!)

A song?

“Lazy eye” by Silversun Pickups

Right or left handed?

What is the best dish you can cook?

I think “pasta in bianco”, the simplest recipe of pasta, it literally means “pasta in white”. I put butter and parmesan cheese but you can add just oil too.

It’s better to know that I am used to eating at work...

Ps: Please, when you want to cook pasta, wherever you are: boil the water (it means that you have to wait to see big bubbles in the pot!), add a handful of rock salt and then the pasta, in this order.

Your idea of happiness?

Singalongs with friends!

Your idea of misery?

To be forgotten.

If not yourself, who would you be?

I‘d like to try to be a man in the next life.

Your heroes?

The powerpuffgirls, and my parents too.

What is your present state of mind?

“Why am I here?”

Bedside table books?

“My uncle Oswald” by Roald Dahl and a book about Mick Jagger.

What do you do if you can’t sleep at night?

Usually I smoke listening to music or scrolling the phone/watching Netflix.

Do you collect?

A loooooot of things, but basically I collect Peanuts gadgets and Vans shoes.

I collect places, moments and people too, taking pictures.

Tea or coffee?

I drink more coffee than tea but i prefer tea!

What is your middle name?

No middle name for me!

What do you do in your free time?

I make lists, of everything.

I like reading, writing, listening to music, taking photos, smoking weed, walking on the beach, going to the park and talking about life with friends.

What inspires you?

I said I like smoking weed :)

What do you do for money?

I work in a restaurant in Bologna called Osteria dell’Orsa, it’s a very old place and everybody know it.

If you’re around ask for Tagliatelle with the bolognese sauce!

What do you do for pleasure?

If I want to cheer me up I drink milk with Kellogg’s Chocos.
